CALEFACTOR was formed in the Orlando, FL studio of Brett Hestla Productions in 2012 when Steve Atchison went to collaborate and record an album with Brett Hestla (Virgos Merlot, Creed and Dark New Day). Steve said, “It’s something that I had been wanting to do since childhood and I decided to try to do it solo. Jason stepped up and offered to play drums on the album and he’s stuck around since day one, making him a founding member.” The band decided to do the entire album with just Steve Atchison, Jason Delgado and Brett Hestla.
Calefactor currently comprises of Steve Atchison (vocals and guitar) and Jason “Gado” Delgado (vocals and drums). They get their inspiration from bands such as Sevendust, TOOL, Zeppelin, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Nonpoint, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and so many more. Their sound is likeness to Chevelle, Seether, Three Days Grace and Sum 41.
The demand for a release was incredible. Although it was quite a while in the making, the single “Taken for Granted” was produced by Brett Hestla and released in early 2019. “Taken for Granted” has received great reviews and play on Orlando’s 101.1 WJRR Rock Station as well as streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and iTunes.
